Inside and out, this set-back, gabled old village inn glows with mellow honeyed stone; log fires, beams and mullioned windows add to the charm of its setting beneath the gently undulating horizon of the Cotswolds. Drinkers appreciate the selection of real ales; ciders and perry from regional orchards; and the mid-September beer festival. Diners can self-cook their fish, steaks or haloumi on hot-rocks at the table, or choose from the list of starters and bar meals. Here you may find baked Cotswold Blue Brie with fig chutney and focaccia; beef, mushroom and red wine pie, vegetables with new potatoes or chips; or salmon and dill fishcake with sweet chilli mayonnaise. There’s a gluten-free menu too.
