In the pretty village of Langham, deep in Constable Country on the Suffolk/Essex border, is this Edwardian pub. Richard and Esther Brunning run this family-friendly and stylish free house that’s open all day. Adnams and Woodforde's are among the ales served at the bar, alongside an extensive list of wines. A typical meal could take in beetroot-cured gravad lax with lemon crème fraîche; followed by lamb curry platter; or beef, bacon and red wine pie, then crème brûlée or sticky toffee pudding.
