With a history dating back to the 15th century, The Queen’s Head is a traditional free house with log fires, a private dining room and riverside garden. Ales from Adnams are backed up by Aspall cider, a large selection of lagers, and a wide-ranging choice of wines. The kitchen’s modern British approach produces starters such as king scallops with cauliflower puree, caper and raisin vinaigrette, and toasted hazel and shallot oil. Mains include braised pig cheek and chorizo, roast partridge crown with bacon croquette, and pea and truffle risotto. Try pear bakewell or apple and blackberry crumble for afters.
