Open all year

Inglenook fireplaces and plenty of bric-à-brac are to be found at this large free house, which is where various veteran car and motorbike enthusiasts meet on club nights. This is a popular pub with walkers who are out on the many great routes round here including the Vanguard Way. Enjoy live music on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings plus jazz at lunchtime on Sundays. The jury in the famous 1852 Onion Pie Murder trial sat and deliberated in the bar before finding the defendant, Sarah Ann French, guilty of poisoning her husband.
