Family-run, family-friendly and sister pub to The Cock at Ringmer, the Highlands has a light and modern feel to its largely open plan interior. Seating varies from chesterfield-style sofas to leather-clad armchairs, tartan-clothed banquettes and high stools. At the bar, optics have been dispensed with, so all spirits are hand-measured. Harvey's and two local guest ales are on hand pump. The menu comprises home-made pub fare, with steaks, burgers, platters, and pub classics such as pie of the day served with mash, vegetables and gravy. A trio of vegetarian options, a home-cooked children’s menu and a choice of three roasts on Sunday complete the picture.
