Village pub that keeps it simple

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

Just east of this 200-year-old village pub is the famous chalk promontory of Flamborough Head and its equally famed lighthouse. The inn is a welcoming place with inviting roaring fires in winter. With the North Sea so close you’d expect plenty of fish, and there is, namely, Whitby whole tail breaded scampi; smoked haddock fishcakes and home-made fish pie. The menu keeps to staples like a spicy beef chilli con carne; spinach and ricotta cannelloni and traditional Sunday lunches with home-made Yorkshire puddings and a selection of vegetables.
