Pint of beer on a bar

The White Horse Inn

Variety, value, and its own craft brew

Beer festival
Microbrewed ales
Open all year

For a taste of old England, you should seek out this small village and its 400-year-old pub. If you need an excuse, come to ghost-hunt or for the summer beer festival when the White Horse Craft Brewery comes into its own. You will probably meet Pepper, the pub dog, who likes to meet other dogs. Food is sourced from local farms and suppliers where possible. Among the menu options are roast breast of guinea fowl, red wine sauce and dauphinoise potatoes; or dressed Dorset crab with king prawns. Finish with chocolate and marshmallow bomb.
