Located in the pretty little village of Piddletrenthide in the heart of Thomas Hardy country, this 17th-century riverside pub is perfectly situated for exploring west Dorset and the Jurassic Coast. The kitchen makes good use of Dorset suppliers to create both classic pub meals - honey-roast ham with egg and chips; or pie of the day; or contemporary alternatives such as braised pork belly, cider and Bramley apple reduction and parsnip chips for the extensive menu. Relax with a glass of ale in the beer garden, which even has a heated swimming pool to enjoy throughout the summer. Details of three circular walks are available at the bar.
