Pint of beer on a bar

The Cleave Public House

Bar menu
Open all year

Set on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, and dating from the 16th century, this thatched, family-run pub is the only one in the village and is adjacent to the cricket pitch. It has a traditional snug bar, with beams, granite flooring and log fire; to the rear, formerly the old railway station waiting room, is now a light and airy dining area leading to a lovely cottage garden. The pub/bistro has gained a reputation for an interesting and varied, daily-changing menu. Dishes include Ligurian fish stew; River Teign mussels; sausages in ale gravy with bubble-and-squeak; or hand-made pumpkin ravioli with sage butter and balsamic onions. If you’re thinking of taking your dog inside the pub, please just call ahead to check it’s alright with the landlord.
