Some customers at the Church House Inn encounter the wandering spirit of a monk; fortunately for new owners, the Edwards family, he seems to be friendly. Tracing its history as far back as 1028, this venerable inn burgeons with brasses, bare beams, large fireplaces and other historic features. In the character dining room, dinner might start with spiced lamb koftas, tabbouleh salad, cucumber and mint yogurt. It might continue with roast fillet of gurnard, smoked pancetta, grilled baby gem, ratatouille and basil oil. There is a large garden and patio where you can enjoy a pint of Dartmoor Jail Ale.
