A venue popular with local anglers, this 18th-century pub takes its name from a fishing fly. Situated at the gateway to the Peak District National Park, it is handy for visits to the stately homes of Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House. After quenching the thirst with a pint of Wychwood Hobgoblin, the comprehensive menu promises a selection of well-priced and tasty pub meals: beef lasagne; golden breaded scampi; piri piri chicken; a selection of burgers; ham and eggs; or chicken, gammon and mustard pie. From the dessert choices there's jam roly poly pudding or lemon and mandarin sponge. Dogs are very welcome in the outside areas.
