Barley Mow Inn

Built on the edge of the Peak District National Park by the Storer family of yeomen farmers in the 16th century, the building became an inn during the early 1700s. The imposing free house has remained largely unchanged over the years. Six nine-gallon barrels of beer stand behind the bar, with cheese and pickle or salami rolls and bar snacks on offer at lunchtime. Tea and coffee are always available. If you bring your dog it must be kept on a lead at all times. Close to Carsington Water, there are good walking opportunities on nearby marked paths.
