Bar menu
Open all year

In a peaceful village a short hop from Durham’s historic city centre, the family-run Seven Stars has been refreshing travellers since it was built as a coaching inn in 1724. The cosy traditional bar with open fire offers ales from the Durham Brewery, while the separate restaurant serves modern British dishes with occasional international influences. Expect the likes of crayfish tail salad; black pudding fritters; beef and Durham Magus ale pie; and lemon pannacotta with blackberries. Lighter lunchtime bites include pork and leek sausages with chunky apple sauce, and sandwiches, and from 5.30pm, home-made, stone-baked hand-rolled pizzas.
