Set above the valley of the River Inny in the pretty hamlet of Treburley, a few miles south of Launceston. This 18th-century pub is owned and run by Anton Piotrowski, a former winner of BBC's MasterChef The Professionals. Anton heads a close-knit team dedicated to serving guests with top-notch ales, ciders and food. A tree-shaded garden to the rear is a pleasant place to relax with a pint of Healey’s Cornish Rattler cider or Jail Ale from the increasingly popular Dartmoor Brewery. Choosing from the menu of pub classics and specials may be a struggle, although a pleasant one. A robust start could be game terrine with pickles and toast; or a pheasant and bacon Scotch egg with home-made brown sauce. Follow perhaps with roast guinea fowl, pearl barley and green beans. Dessert selections may include chocolate and orange bread and butter pudding; and lemon curd cheesecake.
