Owner Phil Heslip and chef Brian Green take pride in the quality of the home-prepared modern British cooking at this highly appealing, rural 16th-century inn. The character of the interior owes much to the low-beamed ceilings, brassware, paintings and prints. Phil brews his ornithologically themed Cornish Shag, Chough to Bits and High-as-a-Kite beers on site. So, in winter cosy up to the fire for a drink or a meal of perhaps slow-roasted shoulder of Cornish lamb, or oven-baked hake with pan-fried new potatoes; in warmer weather head outside to the picnic tables. Just to the west is the famous King Harry Ferry over the River Fal.
