Much of the appeal of this spruced-up village pub is the scope of events that draw drinkers and diners. Wine tastings, networking events, excellent offers and welcoming staff are just a few of the reasons why people keep on returning, not to mention the choice of outdoor dining areas, particularly the decked suntrap terrace. The bar stocks real ale from Chester’s Spitting Feathers brewery, as well as representatives from Cheshire Brew Brothers. Good use of local produce is evident on seasonal menus that might start with pressed chicken and ham hock terrine and continue with home-roasted gammon loin or the famous Bells’ fish and chips. There a beer festival every summer.
