At the heart of bustling Tregaron, on the fringes of the Cambrian Mountains, Y Talbot is surrounded by a web of footpaths and drovers' roads. Its idyllic location guarantees first class provender from local farms, lakes and the Afon Teifi which flows through the town. The contemporary food has earned two AA Rosettes and includes braised Welsh lamb neck shepherd’s pie, chantenay carrots, peas and mint, and fillet of salmon, spinach, roasted cauliflower, cauliflower purée and red wine reduction. Finish with warm chocolate mousse, griottine cherries and pistachio ice cream. Ales are from local breweries such as Wye Valley and Evan Evans, augmented by an October beer and cider festival.
