Set in the Cambridgeshire fenlands just a short hop from Ely, this creeper-dressed old coaching inn shares the village centre with the church and medieval cross. The courtyard beer garden is a popular spot on warm days, when beers from the likes of Wychwood hit the spot. The new licensees have further developed the well-liked menu of pub favourites and classic dishes which draws in locals and visitors to the conservatory-style restaurant. Light bites include baked dough balls with garlic and herb butter; whilst mains embrace sharing platters, or perhaps ‘piggy three ways’ – sausage, chop and belly pork, mash and cabbage.
