A pub here has served fenland watermen for several centuries; today’s bustling incarnation is popular with leisure boaters on the River Ouse, which glides past the extensive beer garden, from which are cracking views over the rich farmland. Barley from these acres goes into the good range of East Anglian beers, including the house ale from Milton Brewery; an annual beer and cider festival is also held. The restaurant offers dishes like steak and kidney pudding; ham, egg and chips; seafood linguine; Somerset brie and beetroot tart; and a variety of gourmet burgers including wild boar and apple; and kangaroo.
