Located in the centre of the village, overlooking the green, this pub was saved from closure in the 1990s and run by the villagers as a co-operative until 2003. Now owned by Frances Dylong-Fuller, it has a strong local following for its beers and great home cooking, made from local ingredients. Dinner might begin with warm confit duck salad with oranges, walnuts, picked red onion and crispy parsnips, maybe followed by eight-hour slow-roasted Blythburgh pork belly with mustard mash and curly kale; or local game pie. Bring things to a satisfactory conclusion with autumn fruit crumble or sticky toffee pudding.
