Once called the Chandos Arms, this lovely early 18th-century thatched inn still boasts traditional beams and inglenook fireplace. The spacious interior consists of a formal conservatory and a bar with comfy furniture and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Using the freshest, seasonal ingredients from local and regional suppliers, the menu takes in starters like grilled goats' cheese croûte with apple and beetroot chutney; and chicken liver parfait with red onion marmalade; and mains like Cumberland sausages with bubble-and-squeak; roasted rump of lamb with shallot purée; or linguine pasta carbonara.
