This lovely early 18th-century thatched inn still boasts traditional beams and inglenook fireplace. The spacious interior consists of a formal conservatory and a bar with comfy furniture and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Using the freshest, seasonal ingredients from local and regional suppliers, the menu takes in starters like deep-fried goats' cheese and leek arancini with tomato and apple chutney; and honey and mustard ham hock rillettes; and mains like Cumberland sausages with creamed potatoes and garlic Savoy cabbage; pan-fried rump of lamb with parsnip purée; or home-made burger in a brioche bun.
