Known locally as the ‘Gari’, this 19th-century pub is the hub of the village and a warm welcome is assured from Charmain and Jayson McAlpine. Local real ales including Marlow-brewed Rebellion Blonde are on offer at the bar, which also serves up to 20 wines by the glass. The menu might kick off with duck and pork parfait before moving on to home-made pie of the day; gammon steak with egg and fries or a South African-inspired bobotie. Look out for the Easter and August Bank Holiday beer festivals.
