Dating back to the 17th century and originally a craftsman’s cottage, The Black Horse is a great blend of old-world charm and contemporary decor, lovingly refurbished and extended. The village is close to Pinewood Studios so who knows who you might see if you pop in for a pint of Greene King IPA or something to eat. You’ll find pub classics on the menu and a good range of alternative choices, including some ideal for sharing – the baked camembert with ciabatta and apricot chutney, for example. Main courses might include braised rabbit shortcrust pie, creamy mash and veg; herb crusted plaice paupiette, sweetcorn chowder, pancetta, saffron potatoes; or a vegetable tagine with spiced couscous.
