Georgian coaching inn serving seasonal fare

'Courtyard Garden' it says above the arch through which stagecoaches once entered and left this 18th-century inn, conveniently in the middle of pretty Woburn. Behind the Georgian frontage the cosy bar is lined with old leather-upholstered settles and the chic, relaxing dining area is where locally sourced, modern British menus offer venison from the Duke of Bedford's Woburn Estate; roast free-range chicken breast; Devon mussels and king prawn linguine; caramelised red onion and spinach tart; and daily specials. Bands play live music on the last Friday evening of the month.
