Pint of beer on a bar

West Loch Hotel

Bar menu
Open all year

With a backdrop of mature trees, this late 18th-century coaching inn is now a modern hotel, bar and restaurant overlooking the road that skirts West Tarbert Loch, an arm of the Atlantic. Real-ale drinkers enjoy brews from Colonsay, Mull and Oban, while those who prefer a malt can scan the whisky alphabet from Aberlour to Tobermory. Fish and seafood, landed by Scottish boats, includes smoked haddock, salmon and trout, and North Atlantic prawns; other possibilities might be slow-braised Scottish beef cheek with turnip fondant and buttered carrots; venison sausages and baked borlotti beans in rich tomato sauce; and sweet potato tagine.
