Once home to the piermaster (hence the name), this distinctive whitewashed building boasts breathtaking views to the islands of Lismore and Mull. It would be hard to imagine a more spectacular setting for this family-run hotel and seafood restaurant; an AA Rosette being one its many awards, others recognising its green credentials. The popular bar is stocked with Belhaven beers and 50 malt whiskies; a pool room; and a dining area where the finest of Scottish seasonal seafood, meat, game and vegetables are served. Overlooking the pier, the Ferry Bar serves burgers and seafood dishes, plus ciabattas at lunchtime. An evening three-course meal in the restaurant could commence with the Cullen skink, followed by Highland game pie; roast fillet of Scottish salmon; or langoustine platter. For dessert, try the butterscotch pot or a board of local cheeses. Twelve individually designed bedrooms include some with superb loch views.
