Brothers-in-law David Littlewood and Nigel Hake, together with their wives, have fulfilled their long-held ambition to own an inn. Thanks to David's expert cooking and Nigel's amiable hospitality, they have swiftly achieved a reputation for attentive service, highly praised modern Scottish food and excellent accommodation. A sample dinner menu lists goose and chicken liver parfait, compressed apple and beer bread; beef two ways – sirloin and featherblade – horseradish, mash, roots, glazed pearl onions and jus; and North Sea cod with langoustines and shellfish bisque. There are over 50 malts from some of Scotland's smaller distilleries to choose from plus Thistly Cross ciders in the inviting tartan-carpeted bar.
