Honda Pan European ST1100

Used in major cities from 1994

AA Honda Pan European The AA started testing Honda Pan European's in 1990, and eventually started to introduce them into the operational breakdown fleet in urban areas in 1994.

This bike has an 1100cc V4 water cooled engine with shaft drive five speed transmission. They were built particularly to suit AA patrol needs (similar to police specification), and upgraded to carry all the AA's roadside repair equipment.

The use of Motorcycles as an AA breakdown patrol vehicle was limited but they still had an important role to play in major city areas like London and Birmingham. Bikes have the ability to negotiate their way through heavy traffic quickly to attend most common types of breakdown such as lock outs, flat battery, wheel changes and supplying fuel to cars which had run out.

The last Honda Pan Europeans were retired from active service in 2001.

The AA currently has 3 Honda Pan Europeans on the heritage fleet. they are being looked after by AA patrols in Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Bristol.
