Volvo has announced that it is adding a new flagship executive model to its S80 saloon range.
The manufacturer describes the model, first customer deliveries of which will start at the end of January, as "the most luxuriously equipped Volvo ever".
Among the features incorporated into the new S80 are chrome ‘accents’, bespoke executive badging, 18-inch alloy wheels, a refrigerator in the rear, walnut wood inlays, heated rear and front seats and keyless drive capability.
"The all new Volvo S80 offers distinctive Scandinavian design, excellent ride and handling, innovative technology and superb levels of spaciousness and comfort," the company said in a statement introducing the model.
Three powerful engines will be available in the new car – the D5, the V8 all-wheel drive (AWD) and a 3.2, which can function in either front-wheel drive or AWD. All three powertrains come with six-speed Geartronic transmission as standard.
The D5 is the most economical engine in the range, offering 44.1 miles per gallon, while the 4.4-litre V8 is capable of running from 0-60 in six seconds.
