Volkswagen has announced a new limited edition version of the Golf Plus that will be added to the range this summer – the Dune.
The Golf Plus platform is described as "versatile" and the styling of the new car takes its lead from its "little brother", the Polo Dune.
Among the features of the new version is a raised ride height, revised exterior styling, an enhanced range of standard equipment and a unique set of 17-inch alloy wheels.
A deep air dam is set into the front bumper and framed by fog lights, while a contoured silver panel intersects the rear bumper. The new car is available in three colours – silver, steel grey metallic and blue graphite.
The Golf Plus Dune is powered by a 1.9-litre TDI engine, fitted with a diesel particulate filter that lowers emissions to 148g/km and delivers an economy rate of 50.4mpg. A top speed of 121mph can be achieved in the vehicle and 62mph can be reached in 12.1 seconds.
Inside the cabin is a unique trim with leather steering wheel, gearknob and handbrake as well as semi-automatic air conditioning, an eight-speaker CD sound system and electric windows.
Safety also appears to be a priority with Volkswagen’s new model, with six airbags, ABS brakes and an electronic stabilisation programme all available.
