The VXR8 will be the badge to look out for in 2007 for fans of performance cars, the Auto Express reports.
While the identity of Vauxhall’s new car is yet to be officially revealed, the magazine claims to have learnt that the automaker’s new V8 sports model will be named the VXR8.
It is anticipated that this new vehicle will take the place of the existing Monaro coupe.
The VXR8 was revealed in an earlier edition of Auto Express and will be a modified version of the Holden Commodore SS V saloon.
It is expected to go on sale from this summer and the entry-level version will reportedly be capable of producing an impressive 400bhp.
Vauxhall is one of the most popular and successful car manufacturers in the UK and celebrated its centenary in 2003.
Its Corsa was recently named car of the year 2007 at the WhatCar? awards.
