Suzuki gives drivers new diesel option

Automobile manufacturer Suzuki is giving drivers a second diesel option with its SX4 sport crossover line.

The firm is now offering a 1.6 DDiS engine from Peugeot in addition to the 120 ps 1.9 DDiS unit already available.

Motorists not wanting to make the switch to diesel may be interested to know that the 107 ps 1.6 is also at their disposal in the range, coming with two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The new engine has a strong fuel economy and outputs 90 ps, giving it 215 nm of torque which gives "lively, flexible performance characteristics".

"Like the rest of the SX4 range, the 1.6 DDiS offers an exciting small car alternative, combining responsive driving dynamics, high levels of practicality and styling that suggests a freestyle approach to life," said the firm.

Suzuki Motor Corporation was founded in 1909 and employed 13,760 people in 2005.
