Skoda offers details on Roomster Scout

Skoda has announced the addition of a new model to its family – the Roomster Scout.

The new vehicle is described as a "robust, compact MPV" which retains the Roomster range’s standard two-wheel drive system but has the "chunky" body and increased height of the Octavia.

Prices of the car will start from £12,505 for the 1.4, 16-valve, 85bhp model and range up to £14,050 for the 1.9 TDI, 105bhp version.

The new Scout will appear as a more imposing presence than previous members of the Roomster range, according to Skoda, with increased exterior dimensions.

It also has an impressive range of standard specifications, including styled body mouldings, 16-inch alloy wheels, special Scout upholstery, roof rails, branded floor mats, fog-lights, sunset glass and a leather, three-spoke steering wheel.

The automaker expects the new vehicle to appeal to town drivers who are on the lookout for a "nippy and economical machine". Over 51mpg is achievable, as well as a CO2 emission figure of 150g/km and a top speed of 98mph.

Dealers are currently taking orders for the new Roomster Scout, with first deliveries expected in June.
