Skoda debuts emergency vehicle

A purpose-built vehicle designed especially for the emergency services has been unveiled by Skoda.

The 4×4 Octavia Scout Paramedic was revealed at the National Association of Police Fleet Managers exhibition in Swindon on August 14th and 15th 2007.

It is the company’s response to the huge demand seen for the Octavia Estate 4×4 from the public sector and has been modelled to accommodate the emergency services as a result.

"We have been inundated with orders from the emergency services in the last few months. Releasing a purpose-built, part-equipped car like the Scout Paramedic allows us to meet the needs of our clients quickly and accurately," said Martin Burke, head of business sales at Skoda.

Meanwhile, Skoda is set to unveil the new Fabia Estate at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

The vehicle is larger than the original in every dimension and will be offered with three petrol and three diesel engines.
