Skoda’s Fabia set to shine

Motorists who have been waiting to get their hands on the new Skoda Fabia will not have to wait much longer, as the new hatchback goes on sale from May 17th.

Having made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007, the new Fabia will be available to purchase in the UK with seven engines to choose from.

Starting with the 1.2-litre Fabia 1 model, at £7,990, the range goes up to the 1.9-litre TDI PD Fabia 3, at a cost of £13,015.

Trim levels across the model go from 1 to 3, with all Fabia 1 models boasting dual front and side airbags, ABS, central locking, electric front windows and immobiliser as standard.

The first Skoda Fabia hit the streets in 2000 and some 130,000 have been snapped up by UK motorists since then.

Changes in consumer demand also mean the new Fabia now appeals to the more environmentally-friendly car buyer with, for example, the 1.4-litre TDI PD model generating just 120g/km of CO2 emissions.
