New Lotus Evora ‘more rated than slated’ by magazine readers

A poll has revealed that far more readers of iMotor magazine rate ‘rather than slate’ the new Lotus Evora.

The Evora could boost the popularity of used Lotus cars such as the Elise and Exige models.

After 40,000 votes were totted up, 95 per cent of voters rated the new 2+2, with only five per cent prepared to slate it. This makes the Evora iMotor’s most highly rated car of 2008 – not bad going considering that it won’t be on sale until next spring.

Mike Kimberley, CEO of Group Lotus plc, believes that the award bodes well for the car’s prospects. He said: “This award from iMotor readers is particularly special as it demonstrates that we have produced a car that already has a fan base amongst the cognoscenti."

iMotor editor Mat Watson commented: “The Evora’s score is truly impressive and enough to see it beat brilliant machines such as the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and Nissan GT-R. There’s clearly a lot of excitement for this new Lotus.”
