Land Rover has said that it takes its responsibility to the environment “seriously” on the day it launches a campaign to showcase its green-friendly credentials.
Dubbed Our Planet, the communications programme will highlight all of the good work the manufacturer has done to reduce its carbon footprint.
Among the messages Land Rover wishes to convey is the fact that – alongside Jaguar – it plans to spend £700 million on technology to help reduce the amount of carbon it produces.
“The Our Planet campaign will enable Land Rover to demonstrate its commitment to reducing its impact on the environment and improving the living conditions for the peoples and wildlife of our planet,” the firm said in a statement.
Land Rover also indicates that it is “proud” to be associated with a number of conservation and exploration bodies, such as the Born Free Foundation, EarthWatch and the Royal Geographical Society.
Managing director of Land Rover Phil Popham appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Wake Up to Money programme this week, saying that the company is positive its success can continue, even if Ford decides to sell the manufacturer in the coming year.
