Fans of Land Rover vehicles might be interested to hear about two prizes the range has picked up in this year’s Auto Express New Car Honours.
The Freelander 2, which is available in 11 different colours and described by the manufacturer as "tough" but "sophisticated", saw off the competition to be awarded the prize for best 4×4 recreational car.
According to Auto Express’ road test editor Ollie Marriage, the Freelander 2 is an "off-road king" and has put the model back at the top of the class.
In addition, Land Rover’s Discovery 3 was named best 4×4 off-roader, beating the BMW X5 and the Mercedes M-Class to the title.
"We are absolutely delighted to win these awards from Auto Express for both the Freelander 2 and the Discovery 3," said the company’s managing director Phil Popham.
"Achieving the best 4×4 off-roader award for the Discovery 3 is a testament to its class-leading diesel engine, its versatility and its all-round package."
Other models in the Land Rover include the Defender and the Range Rover.
