Land Rover ‘committed’ to sustainable development

Land Rover is entering into a new partnership with environmental charity Earthwatch as part of its sustainable development policy.

Earthwatch is the manufacturer’s fifth global sponsorship partner and Land Rover will be supplying vehicles to contribute to a number of projects.

Nigel Winser, executive director of Earthwatch in Europe, said that Land Rover’s off-road capabilities would "improve the quality and safety of the field research we undertake to understand, manage and conserve the natural resources of the world in a sustainable manner".

The work with Earthwatch is one of a number of socially responsible actions being undertaken by Land Rover.

The group is a key player in Ford’s £1 billion project to develop technologies which will reduce emissions and improve fuel economy.

With the ultimate ambition of effecting CO2 neutrality, Land Rover has also launched the world’s largest carbon dioxide off-set programme.
