Updated used Ford Focus is ‘hot hatch of 2009’

The new version of the used Ford Focus has been described as the "most desirable hot hatch" of 2009 by Auto Express.

The latest Focus RS – which is the fastest mainstream model in the automaker’s history – features a 2.5-litre, five-cylinder turbocharged engine which is capable of producing 310bhp.

Furthermore, the new vehicle can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds, while a top speed of 163mph is attainable.

The magazine explains that drivers will find it particularly versatile and that it is a "fabulously comfortable ride".

"Thanks to a Jekyll-and-Hyde personality, it cruises serenely at high speed, the engine settling to a gentle hum," it contends.

"But as soon as the driver floors the accelerator, it once again becomes a true powerhouse."

The car is retailing for £24,995 and 1,800 customers have already snapped one up, according to the magazine.

The Ford Focus was launched in 1998 in Europe and it has since becoming the best-selling car in the UK.
