Alongside providing motorists with among the best results in terms of environmental impact, the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic also offers strong performance on the road.
That is the opinion of David Finlay in a review of the Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCi ECOnetic five-door for Carkeys.
Motorists can benefit from the generation of a small 98g/km from the vehicle, despite the fact that it is equipped with a 1.6-litre engine, due to some aerodynamic enhancements and low-rolling resistance tyres.
However, according to Mr Finlay, the handling is "exceptional by supermini standards", which is aided by a lower ride height that provides the car with more lateral grip on the road.
Other benefits of the vehicle are the 76.3 miles per gallon of fuel that can be achieved by the engine, while a top speed of 111 miles per hour can be reached.
Mr Finlay concluded that the ECOnetic is the most "sensible Fiesta of its type to buy".
According to Ford, the driving characteristics of the vehicle have not been impacted upon by the changes made to make the car more environmentally-friendly.
