The Citroen Super Sale was staged at BCA Bridgwater on July 8th with the manufacturer entering 277 cars and selling 246, an 89 per cent strike rate.
Online sales accounted for over 51 per cent of the total sales and over three-quarters of all the cars were bid on by online buyers. Citroen managed to surpass the old online sale record by ten units.
A total of 84 buyers registered for the sale, with 20 franchised dealers represented. A further 76 dealers logged on via BCA Live Online to make bids from their personal computers.
Michael Brown, head of remarketing for Citroen UK, was rightly proud of the achievement.
He said: "This was another remarkable record-breaking result for us, and comes at a time when many in the used arena are experiencing difficult trading conditions.
"To sell so many vehicles to online bidders as well as in the hall is testimony to the quality, green credentials and desirability of the Citroen range."
