An increase in vehicle sales at Citroen has been recorded by the automobile manufacturer.
The French company sold 3.23 million vehicles worldwide, representing growth of 3.8 per cent in volume.
Peugeot 207 sales beat expectations, with the company shifting 521,000 models against predictions of 500,000, it added.
Similarly, Citroen’s C4 Picasso was a big hit with more than 200,000 vehicles sold, while the Xsara Picasso picked up 55.1 per cent more in sales.
The company is also toasting the success of the Peugeot 308 model.
“[It] received the Golden Steering Wheel award in Germany and succeeded in bringing in over 83.000 sales within a few weeks of its going on sale,” the firm commented.
Citroen and Peugeot make up the PSA Peugeot Citroen company, which manufactures cars and motorcycles under their respective badges.
It was founded in 1976 and its headquarters are located in Paris and Sochaux-Montbeliard.
