Car of the Week: Rolls-Royce Wraith

This week our car of the week is something a little bit different. Recently we’ve focused on some real old school classics, but this week we’ve gone for something sleek, modern and new; and something that has no real comparison: the Rolls-Royce Wraith.

Rolls-Royce says that the Wraith is their most potent and technologically advanced Rolls-Royce ever created (which is some claim). Sir Henry Royce, the company co-founder, believes that, in creating the Wraith, the company achieved exactly what it set out to. The aim of the Wraith was simple, to “take the best that exists and make it better: when it does not exist, design it.” As a result, Rolls-Royce has created a car that has pushed the boundaries of style and innovation.

The Wraith is a four-seat coupé which is based on the chassis of the Rolls-Royce Ghost. Unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the Wraith has an 8-speed automatic transition as standard.

This is not the first Wraith model that the company has produced, either. In 1938, the company brought out its first Wraith model. The name originally means either ghost or spirit, and hence it ties in nicely with the use of the Rolls-Royce Ghost chassis.

This particular model, a 2014 14 reg Rolls-Royce Wraith, is a fine example of some of the finest engineering prowess on the planet. Since new, the car has only done 900 miles. A 2 door automatic petrol model, the Wraith is English White with a Black Mono Leather interior that boasts a contrast trim.

With accompanying 21” alloy wheels that have a piano black veneer, the car is simply stunning in all aspects and, as it’s a Rolls-Royce creation, the finish is of the highest quality.

As you’d expect, the car is also packed with gadgets and gizmos. With adaptive headlights, a driver assist system, night vision, a heads-up display and a reversing camera as well as much, much more. If you’re interested then check out the full listing here.
