The new Peugeot 3008 forms one part of the French manufacturer's ""SUV offensive"" that kicked off at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Gone are the slightly awkward, MPV-influenced looks of the previous model. What we are left with is a proper C-segment crossover, and possibly one of the best looking ones currently on the market.
Peugeot is offering the new 3008 with a range of incredibly economical petrol and diesel engines, which the manufacture claims are all the best in their class in terms of their efficiency. In the UK, the 1.6-litre BlueHDi diesel with 118bhp coupled with the six-speed manual gearbox will likely be the most popular choice with consumers.
Not only has the 3008's exterior received a much needed redesign, the interior has also been reworked. Even in Allure spec - which will act as the entry-level model in the UK - the cabin is a nice place to sit. The digital 12.3-inch heads up display and eight-inch touchscreen located on top of the dash are both clear and easy to read.
One of the 3008's main draws is the fact that it will be offered with a large amount of kit as standard in the UK, even on base models. Some of the standard equipment includes satellite navigation, parking sensors, reversing cameras and 18-inch alloy wheels.
From a practicality point of view, the new 3008 will be more than capable of coping with the ins and outs of family life. There is plenty of space in the cabin for occupants, while the boot offers a generous 591 litres of storage space with the rear seats in place.
