AA Smart Lease offers drivers a range of benefits, from the flexibility to change your leasing arrangement to a full maintenance and servicing package included in your monthly price.
Another thing we provide as part of your deal is a fully insured car. But what’s included as part of this? Let’s take a look.
You might only expect part cover to be included in your lease, but with Smart Lease your car is comprehensively insured as part of the monthly fee and you don’t have to worry about picking the appropriate level of cover for you.
If you have an accident, any damage is fully paid for. The insurance covers the cost of the repair and/or any replacement parts. If any parts are stolen, we’ll replace the part and cover any labour costs.
With our comprehensive cover, any damage to your windscreen is covered. The repair or replacement of the glass will be included.
Legal costs of up to £100,000 are also included, along with medical expenses. As is liability to others, the cost of damage to property, or death or injury to another person.
Plus, the insurance covers personal belongings in your Smart Lease car if they're lost or damaged due to an accident, fire, theft or attempted theft.
No annual renewal required
With traditional insurance policies, your premium might increase each year or you may be forced to shop around to try and find a better deal. With Smart Lease there is no annual renewal as your car is covered for the duration of the lease.
And because the monthly price of your lease is fixed for the duration of your term, even if you have an accident you won't have to pay more.
Add your partner for free
Another great feature of Smart Lease is you can add a partner or spouse onto your lease for free. Providing this information is given to us, and your partner passes the eligibility checks, they’ll be listed on your certificate of Motor Insurance. They’ll benefit from exactly the same cover when they’re driving your Smart Lease car.
Low excess fees
If you're involved in an accident, you’ll need to pay £250 as an administration fee. This applies to fire and theft, too. The fee on a replacement or repaired windscreen is £100. These fees don't increase if you have an accident.
No claims bonus
If you haven’t made a claim in the last few years, you’ll probably be benefitting from a ‘no claims bonus’.
At the end of your Smart Lease, you can call the team on 0344 472 1081 and they’ll send you a letter confirming you haven’t had an accident which you can provide to your next insurer as evidence of no claims.
Get a Green Card for abroad
Your Smart Lease car is insured for driving abroad, but you need to tell us before you take the car outside of the UK as a Green Card is needed, issued by the insurer. The Green Card shows the minimum insurance cover needed by law in the country you're visiting.
You should allow at least 14 days for the Green Card to be issued and sent to you. To get your Green Card, call us on 01993 894666. Lines are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm. We'll need to know the address for posting the Green Card, the dates of travel and the countries you're visiting.
