Fuel and breakdown card
How soon will I get my fuel and breakdown cards?
Once we’ve received your completed application, we’ll give you a call to let you know if it’s been successful.
We’ll also send you an invoice for your annual breakdown cover fee. Once you’ve paid this, we’ll send your card out to you in the post – it should be with you within 5 working days.
After that, we’ll send you fortnightly invoices for your fuel top ups and any other services you’ve used. You’ll be able to set up a direct debit to pay these.
Who can use the card?
Only you and the card holder can use the card. Before they use it, the card holder will need to sign their name or write their vehicle registration number on the back of the card.
Is there a limit to how many cards I can have?
No. You’ll need a card for each vehicle but you can apply for as many cards as you want.
Can I set a spend limit on each card?
Yes, you’ll be able to set a spend limit of up to £9999 on each card when you apply. You’ll be asked to authorise any products and services purchased on the card that go over this limit, with the exception of fuel, oil, breakdown and windscreens.
Where can I refuel?
Our fuel and breakdown card will give you access to the AllStar fuel network - the largest in the country. You’ll be able to fill up your vehicles at all major supermarkets, fuel company service stations and motorway services.
What price will I pay for my fuel?
You’ll pay the pump price.
Can I use my card to buy other products?
Yes. As well as fuel, you can use your card to pay for windscreen repairs, tyres, vehicle rental, servicing and repairs, as well as your annual breakdown cover.
How can I see a full breakdown of what I’ve spent?
We’ll send you an invoice back-up file so you can see details of every transaction you’ve made on your card. You can also get in touch to request a number of other reports.
Can I manage my account online?
Yes. You’ll have access to the AllStar online system, where you can manage your account.
How will my breakdown cover be billed?
We’ll send your annual renewal charge on your consolidated invoice.
Is my invoice HMRC approved?
Yes it is, so you’ll be able to claim back 100% of your VAT.
Business breakdown cover
I don't have cover. Can you send someone if I have an emergency now?
Yes. You can call us on 0800 420 420 to get help straight away.
We'll tell you how much it’ll cost to fix the problem and send an engineer as soon as possible.
Which vehicles do you cover?
We can cover your fleet of cars, vans trucks and other vehicles as long as they’re under 3.5 tonnes.
I have a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) – can it be covered under business breakdown cover?
No, you’d need to take out
truck breakdown assistance.
How much is the VAT on business breakdown cover?
We don’t charge VAT on business breakdown cover.
How long will it take to open my account?
Your account will be opened as soon as we receive your completed application form and payment, and have confirmed your application has been successful.
When will I be able to use my business breakdown cover?
You can use your cover 48 hours after opening an account.
Do I need my fuel and breakdown card if I need to call out the breakdown service?
Yes. Your card has the telephone number for your driver to phone in a breakdown situation, and quoting your card number will help us to find details on the system. You’ll also need to show a valid card when the patrol arrives.
Will my company be invoiced if a Patrol has to fit spare parts?
If this happens, the driver would have to pay for the part there and then unless alternative arrangements had been made before the call-out.
What if I sell one of my covered vehicles mid-way through my breakdown cover period?
You can add another vehicle in its place at any point up to renewal of your cover. If a replacement vehicle isn’t allocated, we won’t be able to give you a refund or credit.
Is my vehicle covered in Europe?
No, you’d need to take out Fleet Europe annual cover.
