Description
Built in 1854 as a gentleman's residence and set in a peaceful location, this Gothic-style manor house retains many period features and takes its name from a 200-year-old Indian cedar tree in the mature garden. The restaurant is cosy and romantic in a modern country-house style with white linen, crystal glassware and silver cutlery. As much locally sourced produce as possible is used in classic British dishes with a hint of European influence, such as chicken liver and Madeira parfait, calves' liver with creamed potatoes, curly kale, beer-battered onion rings and crispy pancetta, and chocolate and almond brownie dessert with Cointreau-poached clementine.
