Description
This ancient building has been on the site since 1640 and was once a holiday haunt of Charlie Chaplin. Today's visitor can choose from the traditional restaurant or the more contemporary bistro. The cooking style is traditional, as reflected in starters like Orkney herring marinated in dill and sherry, or prawn cocktail, while main courses feature a selection of steaks (chargrilled with wild mushrooms), plus something like breast of duckling with colcannon and black cherry jus. Vegetarians are well catered for.
