Description
Set in a cobbled mews in the city's West End, this has been a Glasgow institution for over 30 years. With its spectacular glass-covered courtyard and fabulous array of lush green plants, it's a unique venue. A mezzanine level overlooks the tables and foliage below, and there's also a more formal dining room. There are three bars, too, each with its own atmosphere. The cooking is a mixture of traditional and original Scottish recipes using local ingredients. Menus are constantly evolving with the seasons, but favourite dishes include venison (or vegetarian) haggis with mashed potato, carrot crisps and turnip cream, followed by organic Orkney salmon with lime and vanilla mash, finishing with whisky mac parfait with rhubarb compôte.
